Nine Wines

What We are Drinking This season

The nine wines we served on Thanksgiving and will continue drinking throughout the season. Hand selected by Orchard Kitchen's very own Wine Maven, Tyla Nattress. All of these wines pair well with cozy evenings and hearty meals and are sure to impress dinner guests. Especially number 1!

1. Cailloux Vineyard Syrah- “Aromas of raspberry, smoke and underbrush and a
silkiness of texture that reminded me of a big Burgundy.”
—Stephen Tanzer,
International Wine Cellar

2. 2023 'Southing' Pinot Noir- The ever-changing nose of the Southing exhibits fresh currant, slight strawberry and rose aromas with notes of dried fruit, fennel, clove and nutmeg. The fine tannins and minerality are enhanced by our estate vineyard’s characteristic cool climate acidity.

3. Domaine Bart Marsannay 2022- Known for its vibrant red fruit, earthy, and mineral notes. It is described as having a balanced palate, fine tannins, and a finish that can range from elegant to austere depending on the specific bottling

4. Schramsberg Blanc De Blancs 2022- Opens with lifted aromas of green apple, apple tart, apple custard, tangerine, and lemon-lime. The palate follows with vibrant flavors of fresh grapefruit, golden apple, and white peach, leading into a clean, refreshing finish accented by vanilla chiffon and a hint of ginger. A sparkling wine defined by brightness, balance, and exceptional purity.

5. 2024 Illahe Viognier- Aromas of white peach, nectarine, dragon fruit, pineapple, jasmine, and sweet pea, this Viognier jumps out of the glass. The palate is clean with vibrant acidity, and it has a refreshing finish. Pair with sunshine and feel free to enjoy spicy food.

6. Spoiled Dog Winery 2021 Estate Pinot Noir- This pinot noir, selected from top lots of seven clones, spent 18 months in 25 percent new French oak. The nose is exceptional with cherry, Mud Pie crust and earth. Inside, there’s beautifully bright red fruit akin to cherry pie with a Graham cracker crust. Gold Award.

7. Gorgiste CHARDONNAY 2023- A savory wine, leaning more mineral than fruity. This sets it apart from most Washington offerings, where fruit-on-fruit and oak tend to dominate. The ripping acidity combined with these savory, spicy tones takes us somewhere else entirely—not France, not Eastern Washington, not California. It’s the Gorge. And how cool is that? We’re continuing to discover a new terroir together, unearthing a whole new expression of place.

8. Cedergreen Chenin Blanc 2024- Floating on air and water, our dry Chenin Blanc balances minerality with aromas of D’Anjou pear and Jamaican ginger.

9.  Cedergreen Gamay Noir 2019- Found at Skyline Vineyard. The high elevation creates a cooler site, delivering delicate tannins and a silky, smooth mouthfeel - expressions of crushed cherry, raspberry, plum with deep floral aromas of cut iris and peony flowers. Pair with animal, vegetable, mineral-roast turkey, salmon, lamb.
