What's a Belvedere?
Situated among our gardens.
We added two timber frame structures to define our patio seating on our farm. We are so exited to share them with you. We have all been workshopping on how to describe them to other people. Are they a pavilion? A pergola? No. No. Nothing worked. I ended up having to go to a Thesaurus. (We love a Thesaurus) What's a synonym for pavilion ?
Then we saw Belvedere! That's a fun word!
According to Wikipedia: a belvedere or belvidere is an architectural structure sited to take advantage of a fine or scenic view. The term has been used both for rooms in the upper part of a building or structures on the roof, or a separate pavilion in a garden or park. The actual structure can be of any form or style, including a turret, a cupola, or an open gallery.
So, we're going for it. Just for fun. :)
Our open patio seating is available July 9 - August 30th. Thursday- Sunday.
Is this a cupola or a turret or both?
