Autumn On the Farm

Bean Harvest

The farmers are beginning to harvest our storage beans, scarlet runners, Corona and black coco beans. Planting them is easy and leaving them alone all summer gives us something beautiful to look at, especially when the flowers bloom. Picking them, however, is slightly tedious and a job that seems to go on and on. Once they are collected, dried and cleaned they will go into storage. We use them all year round and crave them during the darker days of fall and winter.
